Rally-O, also known as Rally Obedience, is a fun and engaging sport that tests the skills and training of a dog and their handler. It is a great way to build a strong bond between pet owners and their dogs, as well as to provide mental and physical stimulation for dogs. Rally-O is suitable for dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes, and is a fun and challenging way to take your training to the next level.
What is Rally-O?
Rally-O is a team sport where the handler and dog navigate a course of 12 – 16 different signs. Each sign describes an obedience exercise or skill to be completed by the dog and handler such as heeling patterns, sits, downs, fronts, finishes and patterns around cones. The objective of the sport is to demonstrate the dog’s obedience skills and to demonstrate how well the dog and handler work together as a team. There are five levels of classes in AKC Rally: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Excellent and Maters.
Why is Rally-O good for dogs?
Rally-O is a great way to provide mental and physical stimulation for dogs. The sport helps to improve the dog’s mental focus, ability to follow commands, and problem-solving skills. It also provides a fun and challenging way for pet owners to bond with their dogs and provides a great way for dogs to burn off excess energy. Rally can help a dog gain more confidence as they work closely with their owners on new challenges in a safe environment.
Whether you are looking to compete or simply want to provide mental and physical stimulation for your dog, Rally-O is a great way to do so.
